Spicers’ gets FSC approval again

November 19, 2009 Appointments, Green, Wholesaler No Comments

spicers1Wholesaler Spicers has successfully completed the annual Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) audit for the second year running. It was the first wholesaler in the office products channel to receive the FSC CoC certification in 2008.

The FSC Chain of Custody (CoC) certification is awarded to companies that manufacture, process or trade in timber or non-timber forest products and want to demonstrate to their customers that they use responsibly produced raw materials. Spicers says it gives its dealers an advantage when trading with customers who require full FSC accreditation throughout the supply chain.

Hamish Baker, Environment, Safety & Health Manager at Spicers UK says: “We are delighted to have completed the FSC certification for the second year running. Demonstrating the environmental credentials of the complete supply chain is becoming increasingly important to our dealers, and we are committed to working with our suppliers to achieve this.”

Spicers also has ISO 14001 and the BOSS Federation Environmental Certificate. It is a supplier of Fairtrade products and is registered under the WEEE directive.
