RED BOX embraces homelessness
RED BOX has teamed up with The Big Issue to help raise funds for the Big Issue Foundation and raise awareness of homelessness in the UK.
Having helped the Big Issue to save money on its office supplies, on Friday 18th May a RED BOX team gave up their beds for a night to sleep out in the Old Vic Tunnels, Waterloo. As well as giving them a chance to learn a bit more about life on the streets directly from those affected by it, the team has so far raised £625.
“We’re proud to be supporting the Big Issue in their mission to provide a hand up, not a hand out and help individuals to take control of their lives” said Managing Director Gordon Christiansen. “The Big Issue offers some of the most excluded people in the country a unique opening to take some control of their lives and earn a legitimate income. By supporting and raising awareness of the services the Big Issue provide, we can help to address the problem of homelessness.”
Later this year, members from the RED BOX sales team will be put to the test when they accompany a Big Issue vendor for a day to discover what it’s like to sell magazines on the streets of London.
The Big Issue Foundation is a national charity which connects Big Issue Vendors with the vital support and solutions that enable them to rebuild their lives and journey away from homelessness.
