Spicers proudly awards Gold to lucky winners
Hosted at their Head Office in Sawston, Spicers held their ‘Going for Gold’ Prize Draw and Networking event for Dealers registered to the distributors’ latest incentive.
The session opened by Alan Ball, CEO with more than 50 in attendance for the day. Alan shared an update on Spicers since the sale eight months ago. Alan also talked in more detail about some of the investments secured that are funding projects across the network and systems to drive further improvement in service and availability for Dealers Partners.
Lord Digby Jones, recently appointed to the board of Spicers, also joined the event to meet members of the UK Dealer community and gave an invigorating and entertaining talk on his views and experience of the business market in the UK today.
Gavin Smith, Sales Director at JKL remarked, “Our thanks to Spicers. It was good to be able to hear the views of Alan and the progress Spicers are making currently and it was fascinating hearing the stories and opinions of Lord Digby Jones, very thought provoking.”
Lord Jones and Alan Ball made the draw for the winners for July’s prize fund from over 60 entries into the first months’ draw. Lucky winners of the first prize, a £10,000 credit from Spicers, were ‘Synergy Syndicate One’, which combined the forces of McAra Office Supplies, Just Office and Woods Business Services, all members of Spicers Synergy programme. The £5,000 credit second prize went to Euroffice.
Comments came from the first prize winners, Jane and Ian McAra, Mark Rostock and Jon Banger, “7 years in preparation, early mornings and late nights in training and one only month to prove that we have got what it takes to be winners!! We are now the proud owners of the 10K gold medal!! We would like to thank Spicers.”
Alan Ball told us, “The event was a big success for us. I’m delighted that we’ve been able to invest back into four dealers businesses who’ve worked really hard to achieve success, not just in the last month but across many years of trading. I’m looking forward to being able to do the same in August and September. There’s still a prize find of £30,000 for Dealers to strive for.”
Dealers in attendance also benefitted from a month long price incentive offered by Wasp Barcoding who demonstrated the wealth of opportunities that lie within the market for dealers to pick up new business.
Spicers ‘Going for Gold’ incentive continues to run until the end of September and offers dealers the chance to win £10,000 per month with a generous runner-prize of £5,000. Participating dealers need to increase their spend for the month with the distributor by £10,000 or more to earn a ticket into the draw to win.
